The truth about Christmas

Birthday of Jesus Christ

Christmas is celebrated by many people. But, unfortunately, only a few people know what they celebrate. After all, Christmas is not just another holiday in the calendar.

Christmas is the birthday of Jesus Christ

Usually, the birthday man is the main person at the birth. But, who do we really honor on the Christmas day? Who and what is the center and essence of our celebration? Maybe this is a full table of Christmas foods? Maybe expensive gifts? Maybe an interesting entertainment program? Or the birthday man? For most people, Christmas is associated with a Christmas tree, a “sparkle” on TV and a noisy feast. But let’s think about this: after all, this is the birthday of Jesus Christ.

The angel of God descended from heaven and declared:

“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1: 21)

Jesus Christ was the Son of God, who descended to earth, to be born trough Virgin Mary. In order to come to his age, to take upon himself the full punishment for the sins of all mankind (my and your sins). This is not just the birthday of another great man. This is the birthday of sacrifice for my sins. Our sins are the reason why He had to go for such a feat. And the motive for this feat was His love for each of us. Here are His words:

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16)

Jesus Christ is sacrifice for our sins

Jesus Christ knew that if He did not do this, then we will all spend eternity in the torments of hell. Because everyone broke the commandments of God, and became guilty. And no good deeds can redeem our sins. But He took responsibility for each of our sin, that we should be justified on the Day of Judgment, and had the free right to eternal life in a wonderful new civilization — the Kingdom of God.

But this right extends to us only if we believe in Jesus Christ and begin to live a new life with Him. And if we really believe in Him, then everything in our lives (not just for Christmas) will be built to please Him. And of course we will celebrate the Christmas accordingly. He should be our most important and main guest. After all, this is His birthday. Do not forget that He first gave us all an invaluable gift — justification from our sins and eternal life. We have to make our choice: accept or reject this gift. By rejecting God’s justification, you choose to stay in a convicted state doomed to eternal torment in hell. Such a person has no meaning to celebrate Christmas. It is a strange holiday for him. And whoever repents of his sins and accepts Christ as his Lord and Savior, will be adopted as a child of God, justified by judgment for his sins. Such a person really has a reason to celebrate Christmas. Which choice from these two options will you choose? You have to decide. I want to believe that you will make a wise and correct choice.

God bless you!
